How can you polish chromoly bmx forks to a mirror shine?
I have a chrome frame on my bike and i want to match my forks with it.
Cheers.
Strip the forks back to bare metal and get them chrome plated as well.
that’s only way its going to happen.
EDIT chromoly steel looks to same grey colour as any steel have had frame stripped and sent of for powdercoating.
the chromoly steel tubed is lighter and stronger thats why you have bikes made with that material 4130 would be the grade that is used on your bmx frame and in the forks to withstand the stresses better.
the chromoly tubing has chrome in the make up of the tube but is not coated on the surface with that colour.
not recommended to have the forks chrome plated as reduces the strength of the forks can crack.
